We are a Totally Hayward Service Center and highly recommend using the Ecostar Variable Speed Pump & Controller. This will work with any system or automation configuration. On a personal note, I have personally seen this pump in operation in Hayward's lab with meters on waterflow and kilowatt usage and savings. Upon watching the savings this pump was producing I just could not believe what I was seeing. You hear a lot of claims in this industry but here it was, right in front of me doing what they claimed.
